Stick and Place Technique
We are the only clinic in Cyprus to offer
Stick and Place Technique.
The stick-and-place (S&P) method of implantation is a technique where the doctor makes an incision and immediately places a graft into the site.
Since skin is elastic, the openings begin to shrink almost immediately after they are created. To counteract this effect, surgeons will make larger openings. In S&P we will create smaller openings and fill them with healthy grafts immediately.
Healthier Grafts
Properly Trimmed
We are dedicated and ensure that your grafts themselves are properly trimmed and shaped in order to fit in a small slit without trauma or popping.
We remove most of the epidermis surrounding the top of the hair shaft as well as the excess fat and tissue around the body and base.
Creating DROP-SHAPED grafts.
Less Bleeding
Graft Insertion
There is less bleeding in S&P because the grafts are placed immediately after the incision is made.
Our stick-and-place method assures the greatest precision possible so as to minimise shock.
Smaller Incisions
Less Vascular Trauma
An opportunity to create smaller incisions to house the same-sized grafts. Smaller incisions mean less vascular trauma and theoretically better growth.
Match Incision
Incision Size to Graft Size
For precision, we prepare custom-cut sapphire blades that differ in increments of only 0.05mm. Although we use this technique in all our hair transplantation techniques with S&P our doctors can immediately see if the graft easily fits the incision. If not, proper adjustments are made through trimming more precisely.
Smaller openings and healthier grafts which gives our patients better density and less shock
Consultation
No Obligation
Our 3D photography-based simulation of a patient's potential results will help to set up realistic patient expectations.
During the consultation, our expert Doctors will design a personalised cosmetic plan with the patient's input.
We will then illustrate different options by using the available preset tools that show various graft counts and hair distribution. This is not just an educational simulation tool but this will increase your confidence regarding our procedural outcomes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is S&P?
The stick-and-place (S&P) method of implantation is a technique where the doctor makes an incision and immediately places a graft into the site. With the 'graft insertion into premade incision' method of implantation, all the incisions are made first and afterwards, the grafts are placed. We have been using the S&P technique exclusively in all our clinics in Cyprus and we are the only clinic that offers the S&P technique.
Brilliance in S&P
We use properly trimmed and shaped grafts. The grafts themselves are properly trimmed and shaped in order to fit in a small slit without trauma or popping. We remove most of the epidermis surrounding the top of the hair shaft as well as the excess fat and tissue around the body and base. However, the grafts are not "stripped" and still have some shape. The shape is important: the grafts are retentive and drop-shaped, avoiding expulsive shapes, like cylindrical or inverted pyramids.
Match Incision Size to Graft Size is important in any placing technique. With S&P, our doctor will immediately see if the graft easily fits the incision. If not, proper adjustments can be made by either choosing a different blade size or utilising one of 4 assistants to trim more precisely.
Is S&P right for me?
It can be hard to know if S&P is right for you, or even if you are a good candidate for S&P hair transplantation. One of the things that you need for S&P is healthy hair growth at the back and sides of the head, in order to serve as a donor area for follicles to be harvested from. Other factors, such as hair colour, texture and waviness or curliness may also affect the cosmetic result.
The quickest way to find out if S&P is right for you is to book an online consultation (non-obligatory). We can easily help you with any questions, and determine whether or not you would be a good candidate for S&P.
How much does
FUE cost?
There is no one price fits all when it comes to hair transplants, and they can be an expensive procedure - depending on how extensive the work is. The cost can vary depending on a number of factors. You can use our graft calculator or book a free consultation to find out more.
